QYC Club Boat Racing Challenge
Come on down to the Club to enjoy a fun day of casual racing in club boats, followed by camaraderie and BYOB/snacks/grillables with other Club members. Several club members have even signed on to provide live music. This event will serve as a fundraiser with all proceeds going towards TBD. By signing up to race (or making a donation), you can help TBD.
Tentative schedule is as follows:
- 2pm: Race registration and boat rigging
- 3pm: Opti races begin
- 4:15pm: Open races begin
- 6pm: BBQ and Potluck Dinner
- 7pm: Live Music
Multiple club boats will be available for racing. In order to guarantee your choice of boat, please purchase a ticket ahead of time. Registration will also be available on the day of the race.
FUN TWIST: You can reserve a boat for a friend (as in, you pay $15 for a fellow member to be squeezed into an Opti!). If they want to sailing something else, they have to pay the difference to get a faster/more comfortable boat!
In order to maximize the power of your donations, this is a BYOB-style event. You are welcome to bring a picnic dinner to the Club to enjoy after the racing. The grills will be fired up, and QYC has plenty of paper goods stocked in the kitchen. Live music is being provided by Club members!
