Meet 2023 Sailing Director - Lynn Benali

QYC is delighted to introduce our Sailing Program Director for the 2023 season!
Lynn is a passionate sailor who has been sailing for over 12 years. Beginning her sailing career in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Lynn eventually ventured to Marblehead, MA; Oyster Bay, NY; and Les Glénans, France, learning to sail in a variety of different sailing vessels like 420s, Optis, Lasers, Hobie Cat 16s, Swedish Match 40s, Farr 40s, Class 40s, and C30s. With an extensive background in fleet, team, match, coastal, and offshore racing, Lynn has nurtured her passion for sailing and honed various skills valuable on and off the water. Prior to joining QYC, Lynn volunteered at Piers Park Sailing Center, teaching adaptive adults and children to sail in Sonars for them to receive a U.S. Sailing Adaptive Sailor Certification. During the pandemic, Lynn began her first-year coaching at Ipswich Junior Sailing as an apprentice, until later receiving her U.S. Sailing Level 1 Coaching Certification the following year.
Lynn resides in Manchester-by-the-Sea and currently attends the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, majoring in Management and Leadership. At BC, Lynn is involved in various clubs, including, Consult Your Community, Habitat for Humanity, AHANA+ Management Academy, and Red Cross. Lynn also speaks fluent English and French and is proficient in Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys playing classical music on the piano and a variety of different puzzles, like Sudokus.
