Sisters Under Sail Resumes May 24, 2022

The 2021 season marked the creation of a women's sailing group at QYC, thanks to the vision and leadership of Suzanne Boohar. The Sisters Under Sail met on Tuesday evenings for sailing, racing education and strategy, and camaraderie. We can't wait to resume our meetings in 2022! Our mission is to provide an opportunity to share on-water activities for the women at QYC who are interested in sailing, sharing and fun. Our commitment is to offer educational opportunities that will build confidence and foster independence while promoting the sport of sailing and related activities. We welcome all women who are interested in getting on the water at QYC. This includes rules for sailing, opportunities for increasing sailing expertise, race committee skills, and racing.

We have a variety of skilled skippers, crew, and those who are rusty with sailing, or want to learn to sail.
Some skippers will use their own boats, but QYC boats are available.
The women have an opportunity to sail Mercurys, 420s, FlyingScots, Daysailers, Optis, Laser and Sunfish.
The women meet and sail weekly in the evening during Daylight Savings Time.
Fall / Winter meetings held Tuesday evenings.
